Patrick Duffy

Patrick Duffy is an actor and director that began his acting career in the mid-1970s starring as the aquatic hero Mark Harris in the NBC series Man from Atlantis (1977-1978). His breakthrough came in 1978 when he was cast as Bobby Ewing, the honorable younger brother in the iconic CBS primetime soap opera Dallas (1978-1991). Portraying the moral center of the Ewing family opposite Larry Hagman's scheming J.R., Duffy became a household name, appearing in over 300 episodes and contributing to the show's massive global popularity. His character's dramatic "death" and shocking return via the famous shower scene remains one of television's most memorable twists.

After Dallas, Duffy starred as Frank Lambert, the warm-hearted stepfather in the ABC/CBS family sitcom Step by Step (1991-1998), where he also directed numerous episodes. He reprised Bobby Ewing in Dallas reunion films like J.R. Returns (1996) and War of the Ewings (1998), serving as executive producer on the latter.

In the 2000s and beyond, he played Stephen Logan on the CBS daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful (2006-2011, with returns in 2022-2023) and appeared in the TNT Dallas reboot (2012-2014). Duffy has continued with guest roles, recurring parts (e.g., NCIS, Station 19), and Hallmark-style TV movies such as The Mistletoe Secret, Random Acts of Christmas, and Doomsday Mom: The Lori Vallow Story.
